Field Hockey

Field hockey is a popular team game of the hockey household. The sport can be played on natural grass, frozen turf, artificial turf, or a indoor court, and many teams play a match on both natural and artificial surfaces. Each team has ten players and a goalkeeper. Unlike football, field hockey uses a point system to ascertain the score, unlike baseball, which utilizes a different benchmark for the amount of runs scored in a match. Field hockey is played in a section of a stadium or in a neutral facility and is usually separated from regular seating by a fence.

Boarding is when a player receives a minor penalty, like a warning or a direct free kick, until another participant can return the ball. The referee will normally bring a piece of equipment, such as a studded nose piece or spiked boots, to the playing space to determine the beginning of the play. Once play begins, just eleven players are on each group.
